SIMPLE SYRUP
Ingredients:

1 cup sugar
1 cup water
2 tablespoon of zest of herb of your choice (optional)

In a small saucepan, bring sugar and water to a boil. Allow the mixture to simmer until the sugar is dissolved; about 3-5 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool completely. Store in an airtight container.
To infuse your simple syrup place herbs or zest in mixture once you have removed from heat and allow it to infuse while cooling. Strain zest or herbs and store in an airtight container.
